New Horizon Cashmere Stole (Naturally Dyed)
New Horizon Cashmere Stole (Naturally Dyed)
A modern, handspun and handwoven Cashmere stole in a striped design pattern inspired by horizons, where land and sky meet. The colors are all derived from the natural indigo for blues and mixed with marigold for the greens. The folk, modern style also features tonal warp rib stripes in the borders juxtaposed with two small braids on each side for the element of joy! The warp rib is a homage to the region, inspired by the traditional textiles of Changthang (called Challi), and the braids are inspired by the Ladakhi menswear belt called Skeraks.
One of the striking features of this design is that it is made thinner and lighter than our other products after being entirely woven with 1 ply handspun yarn. It's a technical achievement by the talented women artisans of Looms of Ladakh and a first-of-its-kind for the entire Ladakh region.
Cashmere, otherwise known as Pashmina, is sourced from the soft down hair of Changra goats of Ladakh, India.
