Inspired by the traditional Balti men’s robe – called ‘Shuqa’, this light everyday-wear jacket is made from mud-resist hand printed cotton-silk fabric sourced from Rajasthan. Ladakh and Baltistan were historically and culturally tied through trade, Islam and marriage. One of the Ladakhi queens was a Balti princess called Gyal Khatun. The sleeveless, short jacket with a ruffled neck detail is a modern take on the traditional attire.
